Due to their failure to curb violence, killings, rape, and the oppression of women, Natundhara Bangladesh NDB has displayed black cards against incompetent advisers of various ministries, including Home, Foreign Affairs, Education, Food, Health, Commerce, Finance, Information, and Environment. The black card protest was held in front of the National Press Club on Friday, May 16 at 11 a.m., organized by leaders of Natundhara Bangladesh NDB.
The program was presided over by NDB Chairman Momin Mahadi, with speeches delivered by Presidium Member Gazi Monsur, Senior Vice Chairman Shanta Farzana, Vice Chairman Dr. Nurjahan Neera, Acting Secretary General Nipon Mistri, Joint Secretary General Monir Zaman, Organizing Secretary Wazed Rana, Assistant Organizing Secretary Al Amin Boiragi, Bithi Hawlader, Abu Bakar Siddiq Ratan, Rubel Akhand, Aftab Mondal, Saiful Haque Rahman, Arbind Devnath, and others.
In his presidential address, Momin Mahadi said, “Just as we want an end to misrule in the name of politics, we also demand an end to killings, rapes, and violence. To save Bangladesh and its people, our youth-led political platform—Natundhara Bangladesh NDB—has been active on the streets against violence for the past 12 years and will continue to be, InshaAllah. We call upon the Home Adviser to ensure law and order. If you fail to carry out your responsibilities, resign—but save the people of Bangladesh.”
He added, “Since August 5, we have seen students entering politics claiming to represent people, but they have never spoken for the people. They came to politics through deception and continue to remain so. That is why reforms in areas like women’s rights, election processes, and commissions are now questionable to the nation. The people are now economically bankrupt and outraged.”
Other NDB leaders said, “This so-called student-led government is moving down a path of cruelty. That’s why student killings are happening, violence is increasing, commodity prices are rising, the dollar is surging, inflation is worsening, and the stock market is being looted. In such a situation, the advisers for Home, Food, Industry, Commerce, Public Works, Information, and Environment should resign immediately. If they do not step down, we will be forced to announce tougher programs demanding their removal.”
